Essential Oils = Liquid Gold for household cleaning recipes
Essential oils, when properly sourced can be liquid gold for cleaning, healing, stress and even cooking. I love using essential oils in my home and to support my family. 5 Essential HOusehold Cleaning Recipes
1. Thieves Multipurpose Cleaner
As the name suggest this multipurpose cleaner is certainly multipurpose. Use this cleaner to wipe down pretty much any surface. Spray on your bench tops after cooking. Wipe down that grimy high chair. Doubles as a spray and wipe so cleaning the surfaces in your bathroom, laundry, outdoor space.
- All purpose spray: 1 capful in 500ml glass spray bottle.
- Mirror spray: 1/2 capful to 500 ml
- Mopping: 1/4 capful in hot water. Optional: add essential oil’s of choice.
- Fruit & veg wash: 1/4 capful in hot water.
Use in your stain spray, as a jewellery cleaner and so so much more!
2. Mould away spray
The perfect tool for your shower or anywhere you find mould. Simply spray and let sit before wiping clean with thieves spray and wipe. Some people like to spray after cleaning shower as well to help prevent mould from reappearing. This recipe works best after multiple uses on the same region to prevent mould re-growth!
Mould Away Spray is as easy as:
- 3-5 drops oregano oil in glass spray bottle.
- Top with water.
3. Chemical free gumption Paste
Smells sooooo good and really helps clean the grout in my shower, along with all my sinks, oven and stove top. Seriously the best! I find everything comes up so clean, and shiny after using gumption. It is so handy for sticky food on pans too!
Here how to make it:
- Mix bicarb & white vinegar to make a paste.
- Add 10-20 drops lemon oil. Allow to sit for an hour.
4. Stain spray
Think dirty clothes, fabric couches and upholstery!
- 1 capful thieves household cleaner
- Tbsp of bicarb
- 20 drops lemon EO
- Drop of concentrated dish soap
- Dash of white vinegar.
- Topped with water.
5. Laundry booster
The ultimate pair to our thieves laundry liquid. Add a tablespoon to your white or heavily soiled loads to help give it a kick! Looking for a powerhouse for those pumpkin staines or even cloth nappies!
- 1&3/4 cup Epsom salts
- 3/4 cup bicarb
- 20 drops essential oil. I use lemon (white power) and thieves (immune boosting & smells like cinnamon) oil.
